Notes
Per: This was written just before Roxette’s first tour in 1987. “She’s armed and she’s extremely dangerous” …inspired by an early ’70s action movie. A nice piece of bubblegum. Marie: Hmm… Per: I know… you never liked it that much. Neither did Don Johnson. He was recording an album at that time, so I sent him “Dangerous”. He sent it back. Marie: Well, yeah… I like the chorus… Per: …but as a whole this is probably more my thing. Back to the Balloon Farm again. Ice cream and funny hats. Marie: It was very big in the US, #2 and just a millimeter from Janet Jackson, who was #1. Per: I didn’t take it personal, Don.
– Don’t Bore Us – Get to the Chorus! liner notes, 1995
Inspired by a ’70s action movie, “Dangerous” was originally written for Miami Vice-actor Don Johnson’s debut album. He turned it down, but the setback was forgotten when Roxette’s own version reached the #2 spot in the US. The spoken part in the fade-out says “Due to the exceptional weakness of this song – play loud”.

Per: This demo was made in that FourDaysDemoingLookSharp-session in Stockholm in September 1987. Jonas plays fantastic guitar as always. Clair did the programming. My original demo was done in February 1987 with just me + an acoustic guitar in the T&A Studio in Halmstad. I think we played “Dangerous” live at the Rock Runt Riket-tour before it was released on any record. But I'm not sure. Does anyone know???? Turned out to be a huge song for us hitting #1 on the Cashbox-chart in the US and #2 on its competitor, the Billboard-chart. Nowadays, Cashbox is dead and gone! To everything there is a season.

Roxette – Original Version 3:48
You pack your bag
You take control
You’re moving into my heart and into my soul
Get out of my way!
Get out of my sight!
I won’t be walking on thin ice
To get through the night
Hey, where’s your work?
What’s your game?
I know your business but I don’t know your name…
Hold on tight
You know she a little bit dangerous
She’s got what it takes to make ends meet
The eyes of a lover that hit like heat
You know she’s a little bit dangerous
You turn around
So hot and dry
You’re hiding under a halo
Your mouth is alive
Get out of my way!
Get out of my sight!
I’m not attracted to go deeper tonight
Hey, what’s your word?
What’s your game?
I know your business but I don’t know your name…
Hold on tight
You know she a little bit dangerous
She’s got what it takes to make ends meet
The eyes of a lover that hit like heat
You know she’s a little bit dangerous
She’s armed and extremely dangerous…
